Live at Home Scheme

What does it do?

The Live at Home Scheme for Shifnal and Allbrighton provides:
  • befriending
  • exercise
  • assisted shopping
  • lunches
  • social activities
  • advice and support
The aim is to help older people stay independent and supported in their own communities.

The service is organised by a manager and volunteers provide the following services:
  • one to one befriending
  • weekly social/friendship group meets Tuesday afternoons 1.30 pm to 3.30 pm at Methodist Church Hall, Victoria Road, Shifnal, with entertainment and transport provided
  • weekly social/friendship group meets Tuesday afternoons 1.30 pm to 3.30 pm at Albrighton Methodist Church Hall, transport provided
  • support and advocacy service, transport to medical appointments/shops2
  • Extend exercises classes on a Monday 10am to 11am at Shifnal and 11.45am to 12.45pm at Albrightonlunch club bi monthly (2nd and 4th Thursdays) held at St Marys Church Hall, Albrighton 12.30pm to 2.30pm, transport provided
  • monthly lunch club held at various pubs in the area

The aim is to help older people stay independent and supported in their own communities.

Must be a member to access these services, but membership is free.
