 | What does it do?Our Advocacy Service may be able to help. We have trained, independent, volunteer advocates who can visit you at home to discuss the problem and support you to deal with it.
Advocates can help you to communicate your need, defend your interests, ensure your rights are respected and your views clearly expressed. They can help you make informed choices about your life, insist that you are included in any decisions made and just be there for you when you face concerns affecting your life.
An advocate will give you the options - and their likely consequences, but it is always your decision. You remain in control. We also have advocates who visit residential care home to support you on either a group or individual basis, as well as an advocate working with mental health patients in hospital.
For some specialist advocacy projects we also have paid advocacy staff. |
