What does it do?Birmingham Citizens Advice Bureau provides free, independent, confidential and impartial advice to local residents. We advice on
peoples' rights and responsibilities, and can provide information on a wide range of issues. |
Who it is for: The service is provided for anyone from the Birmingham area to obtain advice. | Where it is available: Local service covering: Birmingham (West Midlands). Coventry | What it costs: The service is free of charge | How to access or apply for it: Drop In Service
We operate a drop-in service. This means that you can come in to see one of our advisers on a first-come, first-served basis. Because we sometimes experience very high demand and have a limited number of advisers, we recommend that you arrive early if you have an urgent issue and must be seen.
Be sure to read What to Expect and What to Bring before you visit.
Appointments are available at the City Centre branch
only, for full-time carers and those in full time employment. | What to expect then: When you arrive at the CAB we will welcome you and let you know what services we have available. These include a wide range of factsheets and leaflets for you to browse. Please tell us about any language or access requirements you have and we will do our best to accommodate them.
Everyone is offered a short session with an assessor, who will identify the most appropriate way for us to give you the help that is
needed. We’ll keep you informed about the length of time you may need to wait for this.
Depending on your particular needs, we may make an appointment to discuss your problem further – in person, by phone or on email.
Alternatively, we may provide you with information to take away, or direct you to a different organisation that is better placed to help
you. | Classification(s): Legal & financial, Information & options appraisal, Financial advice (benefits), Legal advice, Information, Signposting / gateway service | Info last updated: 02/03/2011. |
