Transport

Transport, travel,

What does it do?

Don’t have your own transport? Struggle to use public transport?

We may be able to help! We operate a volunteer transport scheme from Monday to Friday, covering Wantage, Grove and outlying villages. We drive clients to Drs, hospitals, shops, to visit friends, and more! There is a charge for using the transport scheme and you must call to book in advance.

Who it is for?

The Independent Advice Centre in Wantage provides a range of services to the people of Wantage, Grove and District.

Where it is available?

Local service (Vale of White Horse).

What it costs:

ypical charges (at current prices*) include – Wantage to Mably Way surgery £5.00, Wantage to JR hospital £22**.

Are you receiving Income Support or Pension Credit Guarantee? If so, we may be able to claim the cost of an Oxford hospital journey directly from the hospital. Please note that for hospital trips, the driver will normally wait up to 3 hours. Trips of longer duration (eg day surgery) will be charged as 2 trips.

How to access or apply for it:

Please call the IAC on 01235 765348 for more details or to make a transport booking.
