 | What does it do?Trafford Care & Repair is a charity working in Trafford. We help older and vulnerable people who own their own home, those in privately rented and social housing, with repairs, improvements and adaptations. The objective is to assist people to remain living independently in their own home in a safe, secure & warm environment.
We will advise and assist on all types of work including building maintenance, windows and doors, heating, damp problems, roofs etc. We also provide a “low cost” handyperson service for a range of small jobs. We also provide benefits checks for over 60’s. All advice is free. Unfortunately we don’t undertake gardening, decorating, gas or electrical work, but we have a comprehensive list of vetted contractors we can supply to clients. |
Who it is for: Mainly over 60's, but we also assist under 60's clients who are disabled/vulnerable with small jobs around the home (Handyhelp service). For clients living within the borough of Trafford. | What it costs: The Handyhelp service costs £15 labour charge per visit, plus the cost of any materials used. | How to access or apply for it: | What to expect then: There may be a short waiting time for a caseworker/technical officer to contact you to make a mutually agreed appointment should you require a benefits check (over 60's only), or need assistance with large privately funded repairs or apply a Homeowner Grant.
