Advisory service

Try out equipment which could help you hear better eg loud phones

What does it do?

If you have a hearing loss and/or tinnitus, you may have trouble listening to the television, hearing the doorbell ring or chatting on the telephone. If this is so, you will benefit from a visit to Hearing Connect. On appointment a trained consultant will spend up to an hour talking to you about difficulties you are experiencing and offer guidance to help you cope with your hearing loss. You can try out a range of specialist equipment to suit your needs. This service is free of charge but donations are very welcome. If you would like information on hearing aids available on the NHS or in the private sector, you can make an appointment with a hearing aid consultant who will give you free, unbiased advice.

We also run a hearing aid maintenance drop in clinic on Mondays for NHS hearing aid wearers who live in the borough of Barnet. We run lipreading classes, a book club, and a current affairs discussion group - these are all fun, lively, vibrant and improve communication, knowledge and confidence. For more information on these or all our other services contact 020 8446 0214 / info@hearingconnect.org.uk or go to http://www.jewishdeaf.org.uk/ .

If you are housebound and unable to come to us for an appointment, one of our dedicated volunteers will be happy to visit you at home.
