 | What does it do?The service to adult carers (18 years and above) provides information, support and the opportunity to have your voice as a carer heard. It also provides support to you as a recent former carer. We offer the following free, friendly and confidential services:
Information - An information pack, including a guide to local services, when you join our mailing list. - A bi-monthly newsletter ‘The Care Sharer’ delivered free to your home address when you join our mailing list. - Signposting to other organisations offering specific financial, practical and emotional support and information.
Support - Monthly Drop-in sessions at Coppull, Penwortham, Bamber Bridge, Leyland and Chorley where you can meet other carers and participate in a range of activities. - Home visits if you find it difficult to leave your home. - A Carersline telephone number, offering a listening ear and information. There is someone to take your call during office hours and an answerphone out of office hours. - Assistance in getting the appropriate service for yourself and the person you care for. - A channel to get your voice heard. - Regular Local Forum meetings where you can raise the issues that concern you as a carer. - An opportunity to attend the Lancashire County Carers Forum. - Opportunities to attend meetings with the organisations that provide services to the person you care for eg. Social Services, the Health Service. - An opportunity to become a member of the growing number of groups consisting of service users, carers, statutory and voluntary service representatives. |
