This nursing home scheme is managed by southern cross healthcare. at amathea care centre we recognise the importance of a varied and appropriate activities programme for all service users. our activities co-ordinator works continually with individuals and their families to design a programme that is in keeping with their hobbies and interests. amathea has a private mini bus which is used to take service users to local amenities such as the shopping centre. there are also regular outings arranged to local places of interest like the theatre. the enclosed patio area at the rear of the home is regularly used for barbeques and other social gatherings. we often enjoy themed evenings – our talented chef prepares different foods from around the world for all to enjoy. we also use the nutmeg system to develop all of the menus. this ensures that every meal prepared is both delicious and nutritionally balanced. amathea has been custom built to maximise mobility for all service users. there is wheelchair access to all indoor and outdoor areas. wide corridors and assisted bathing facilities such as wheel-in showers. the centre also has an in-house hair salon and laundry. provisions are made to ensure the services of a doctor, dentist and optometrist are readily available when required. says At Amathea Care Centre we recognise the importance of a varied and appropriate activities programme for all service users.
