Advice on housing & care for older people. Sheltered housing, retirement housing, extra care housing for the elderly

HOOP

Definition: HOOP is a questionnaire that helps older people think about where they live and find solutions to any problems.

HOOP is shorthand for EAC's Housing Options for Older People questionnaire. On this website, the questionnaire is simply called How well does your home suit you?

The is also another, longer, version of HOOP that is used by many professionals that work with older people.

All versions of HOOP are designed to help older people take stock of their present living and housing situation, including any problems or worries, and identify what information they need to find solutions.

The version on this site let's you go at your own pace, and even take a break and come back to carry on later. It offers suggestions as you go along, or you can email your completed questionnaire to EAC's Advice Line and ask us to give you a call to talk through any difficulties you have identified.
