Comments about Oakland Village

This village has been the answer to all our prayers. Since moving there in March this year she has re-gained her independance and interest in life. She was previously living in her own house at the grand age of 95 about 30 miles away from us. Not managing well and losing her capability to fend for herself. We did not want her to go 'into a home' as she is far too independant and outgoing for that, but what was the alternative. Well after looking at the Village the day after Boxing Day, we had found it. Its like a five star hotel, but on the inside it's caring staff and friendly residents are really putting Mom at her ease. She still loses things and gets lost herself, and is still coming to terms with not being in Birmingham, but yesterday she said she was going home and meant the Village, so we are thanking our lucky stars and the staff and carers at the Village for putting our Mom back on the road to really enjoying life, but safe and happy in that environment. Thank goodness Trident brought the Village to Swad.08/06/2013BARBARA (relative of someone who lives/lived here)reply
