There’s the purpose-built accommodation with its 67 private single bedrooms with en suite facilities, the special extras (such as the Sensory Suite for relaxation therapy), and there’s the full activities schedule for those who wish to take part. But, above all, there are the dedicated staff members who combine professionalism with a real interest in each individual – offering the person-centred care that lies at the heart of MHA’s values.Mealtimes, for example, are special at Hillside – tables are laid and dressed attractively, and care is taken to make sure dining is uninterrupted and unhurried, with everyone receiving all the additional care they might require. For special occasions such as birthdays and anniversaries, expect mealtimes to become appropriate celebrations!
Here, individuals with dementia and nursing care needs are encouraged to express themselves. Staff members take the time and care to get to know each resident, talking to them and their families about their likes and dislikes and personal backgrounds and stories.
In every respect, MHA works hard to support older people to live meaningful lives, responding to physical and spiritual needs alike. The landscaped garden is a place for people to relax and enjoy the view, while the hairdressing salon lets residents take pride in their appearance. We are also committed to providing alternative therapies such as reflexology and music therapy, which do much to enhance the well-being of our residents, and our Chaplain offers pastoral support to all at Hampton Lodge, whatever their beliefs.
