Supported by The John Ellerman Foundation

Now in its 17th year, this national art competition continues to encourage and celebrate the talents of elderly people, whose ages range from 60 to 100. The 2012-13 Awards feature a number of exciting changes designed to:

  • encourage many more people to participate;
  • create a lively Art Awards website through which older artists can communicate as well as submit their entries;
  • encourage entries from artists who live in sheltered and retirement housing, or a care home, or who enter through a day centre.

Our special objective is to achieve a significant increase in thenumber of people who enter the Awards online, and in visits by interested members of the wider public. As last year, they will have an opportunity to vote for the People’s Choice Award later in the competition. In all, 34 prizes will be awarded, including a numberthat are reserved for either beginners or more experienced artists.
