Manager's notes:King Erik House is a Very Sheltered housing scheme for "vulnerable" people. It occupies a central location and is close to all amenities. Its aims are to help tenants remain as independent as possible.
Each flat is self-contained and tenants are encouraged to be as self-sufficient as possible, but there is also a communal lounge on the first floor and a fully equipped laundry. Guests can be accommodated in the guest room which can be booked through the manager and is free of charge. This helps encourage tenants to maintain links with family and friends whilst developing their independence. A Community Care Assessment is completed for each tenant before admission and each will have their own individual Care Plan. Services are flexible and tailored to meet individual needs.
King Erik House is becoming a major resource for people who have dementia in combination with Day Care and a Community Care Package.
