Manager's notes:St Margaret's Court has recently been refurbished to a high standard. All of the residents at St Margaret's Cour live in one bedroom self contained flats with a lounge/dining room/kitchen, bathroom and bedroom. Generally the bedrooms are for single people but there are a few flats which are suitable for couples. The bathrooms in the flats all have level access showers with seats and grab rails but there is also an assisted bathroom for residents who may need a bath and help getting in and out of it. Extra Care at St Margaret's Court is a joint initiative between Contour Housing and Backburn with Darwen Social Services Department and provides accommodation for individuals whose ability to remain in the community is at risk and for whom permanent residential care is becoming increasingly likely. It enables older people to live independently in their own self-contained accommodation whilst receiving care and support which is arranged through social services.
